Start Corporation developed and is operating a 12-unit single room occupancy (SRO) complex to serve as transitional housing for homeless veterans. The project is funded by grants from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, and the Louisiana Housing Trust Fund. Start staff work with the participants using a model that includes Motivational Interviewing, among other techniques, to help with reintegration into the community. (Capacity: Program can house 12 individuals)
